Our cause:
Grief stemming from the death of a baby through miscarriage, stillbirth, newborn death and termination due to foetal abnormality, is the primary cause at the heart of Sands Victoria’s purpose and work (strategy).

This creates a two-fold focus. 1) Exploring the issue of grief, 2) Exploring the issue of perinatal death.

Our target group:

Our primary target group is bereaved parents.

Our secondary target looks at is how the death of a baby affects others; family members, friends, colleagues.

In addition, we explore the wider issues surrounding parental grief on a community and social including consideration of political, economic and cultural influences.

Our approach:
Sands Victoria utilises a “peer-support” methodology as the basis for all support services.
